boxes

i have a stitch in my back, on the right side about three inches below my shoulder blade.

i've been thinking about announcements and pronouncements and speeches lately. i was watching men in trees the other night (so much for giving up tv!) and this guy was trying to propose to his girlfriend, but he wanted it to be perfect and backed himself into a corner until he finally ended up proposing in the town dump with his leg stuck in a trap.

now, i don't want to read too much into that, given my unfriendly slant on marriage, but it's something i really don't get. i don't believe in marriage. or rather, i don't believe in weddings. i don't think they have a point anymore, unless you've got 15 thousand bucks burning a hole in your pocket.

be brave every day. do what needs to be done. Tell your secret if it needs to be told, keep it to yourself if that's best. Control your impulses, tell people you love them, eat well, exercise, breathe deep and stop and smell the roses. Pet a dog. If you only do it once a year it'll always be a thrill, but if you do it each day you'll be healthier.

adrenaline junkies usually die young.

PS I wish I had a secret to tell for TellThemDay. Telling isn't the same as asking.
