so fiona must have got dinged twice, because the normal number of pups from any one conjugal visit is 3 or 4. and fiona has, officially, SIX puppies!!
it warmed up a lot today (-11°C) and the winds are down, so I seized the opportunity to raise the roof of the doghouse and peek inside. I made it a quick visit, so as not to freeze the little munchkins, but i did verify the equipment - it's an even split. 3 boys and 3 girls. the boys have the whiter heads... isn't that strange?

That's really amazing, how they have such uniform color according to sex. Each of them has a thumbprint of opposite color on their head.

the game you are thinking of is most likely Carcassonne. It's a german game based on a medieval French city called (duh-duh-da-da!) Carcassonne! It's a gooder. Plays with 2 to 5 people, super easy to learn, and there are lots of cool expansions. I highly recommend it with all my board game store expertise.
Anne, do you have two cents to contribute, seeing as you are still employed in said game store?
Kent, I'm guessing that you're either thinking of Carcassonne (of which there are several versions), or else a game in the Settlers series, Candamir.
