things... that help you bond with your colleagues

despite the best of intentions regarding this day, i squandered most of it.

i did not go to school either to do laundry, planning or work on the art room.
i did not go on a hike with the dogs.
i did not finish unpacking.

i did do some unpacking, and the end is actually in sight.
then i went for ribs at some of the other teachers' house. after ribs we played Things...

so much fun.

we had another artist drop by this afternoon. she had some really nice watercolours and some cute tiny mittens for pinning to your parka. unfortunately i had no money left since i spent it all on art last night. she seemed disappointed, and even a little bit annoyed. it's frustrating when people bring their art to your door and then get upset if you don't buy it. like, fuck, man... no one asked you to come! and you can't just expect us to always have cash! but still, we asked her to come back again because truly i did like her mittens, especially.

it's a real issue here though... a lot of the locals think the people who come from away are rich. i know differently. a lot of them have more money than us. it's all a question of perspective.

i have a dehydrated headache. it's so dry here... if i don't drink my 800 glasses a day, my hands swell and i get a headache and it can take days to rehydrate.

i had a dehydrate headache yesterday as well. I basically had tea and hot chocalate with Bailey's (before lunch!)... then avoided all liquids so that i did not have to search for a bathroom in bloomfield.

a couple of tylenol masked the pain until I got a few glasses of water in me.

I think i may go for a walk today. it is a beautiful day and very fall like.... windy, sunshiney/ cloudy, leaves blowing all around... and you need to wear a sweater.

much peace to you!
