or today, i was out with the dogs again, hiking up the river. i saw some beautiful scenes, but i just had no drive to see what was around the next bend. there are people i know, wingman included, who always want to push it to a further point. like last week when we were out on the boat, we got all the way to the park entrance, but there was such a sandy beach made from silt runoff from the glaciers that we couldn't land. we could have thrown a rock and hit the park sign, but we couldn't get there without a dip in the Arctic Ocean. it was nothing to me - the view from the park entrance would have been virtually identical to what we saw from the boat. but there was this drive in the guys in the boat to accomplish the landing. (we didn't)
i think sometimes my lack of ambition prevents me from achieving my potential. there's no way to know where I would be now if I hadn't inertia-ed my way through university. what might have happened if i had worked at my schoolwork like it mattered? my work ethic leaves me wishing i could upgrade.
check out my pics from today:
here we have a couple of views of the fjord from up the river

a vain self-timed photo, crashed by one very ambitious husky (fiona)
