I've got Aerosmith's Love in an Elevator going through my head... it's not ideal.
so.. another huge day here. Huge. We started this morning off with a "small hike" up the mountain. two hours of climbing in snow, but i got to see the sun! it was wonderful to see it again. we really had to hoof it to get back down to the school in time to start the workshop. nalu came with, and loved having so many people to run back and forth with.
the afternoon session didn't involve any group instruction, which was probably good since all the fresh air and climbing from the morning's hike really wiped us all out. the kids were working on their routines for tomorrow's battle. apparently, i am going to have to battle with the other teacher who's been dancing... she's going to kick my ass! but the kids will love us to dance, so i suppose i can humiliate myself for a good cause. it's one thing to learn these things with the group, and practise and stuff, but to get up alone and break in front of everyone... well, I'm more shy than people think.
the highlight of the day was a chili supper tonight... we got to sit and have real conversations. it was good to stir the pot a bit. sometimes the social life here gets stagnant.
i just know i am going to sleep like a rock tonight. i realized today that i've been pushing myself really hard... exams, marks, hip hop until 6 at the school, all weekend, hikes, and i'm about to plough into a whole new week of curriculum and classroom management. for today i won't think about all that is waiting for me... i've had a good day and that's good enough for now.
expect a puppy picture update soon - their eyes are open and they are adorable! i heard one of them howl yesterday... i'd taken him out to play with him, and he was sitting on my lap. anyway, he wanted his mama, and he tipped back his little head and opened his little toothless mouth and howled! i think i fell in love with that little guy. melanie, he warms the cockles of my heart. ;)

that's very interesting, because i woke up to hearing "love in an elevator" on the radio when my alarm went off. sleezy tv/radio broadcastors seem to connect that song with valentines day. which is extremely creepy.
i love your cockles. please tape you dancing!!! i need to warm the cockles of my heart too. you should call him cockle... oh no... that's no good. i can really gross myself out.
i just realized after doing my taxes that nunavut never gave me a pension pay-out... they gave kent one and not me. what did i ever do to them? i'm telling you this so you make sure you get yours.
you get on them, mel.
sorry, no video of me dancing :D too bad suckas! i'm sure it wasn't so pretty. i will show you how i can moonwalk someday, though.
i need to recover first, and then keep working on my skills on my own. then we shall see what i let you all see. fair?
Sounds like things are a lot better, with all this activity! :)
