toinght was the hip hop extravaganza at the school. i wish i could have videotaped the whole thing for you all to see and hear...
throat-singing
ayaya singing
throat-singing and beatbox together
just beatbox
drum dancing
the big hip hop battle
the awards
the final show by the instructors
then, a couple of students challenged their favourite instructor to a one-on-one battle... really cool to watch
after all that, the kids hung around until we kicked them out at 11:15, getting autographs, getting their picture taken with the dancers.
all in all, a very successful week. i have no idea where i am going to find the energy to teach tomorrow (or for the rest of the week). i have no idea how the kids will come down off this high.
i have the end-of-camp feeling. still more goodbyes.
it will be so good to see a bunch of you in two and a half weeks.

wow-wee!! two and a half weeks?!!? what's the exact date so i can write it on my calendar?
march 3, very late at night. anyone feel an airport run in their bones??
yipee!
so excited that you will be home!
So what happened with your dance battle with the other teacher?
I think we will be in Maine when you first come down (over that weekend), but might be able to work a *return* to the airport.
i did not have to battle the other teacher, WHEW!
our homeroom classes want to battle each other in a few weeks, though, so there is the possibility of a teacher battle then.
i think neither of us is opposed to battling, we were just exhausted and also didn't want to battle in front of the entire community.
plus, she can kick my ass - she can do the worm. the moonwalk is humbled in front of the worm.
It's true, the worm is hard to beat.
(It's so, so cool that they sent you hip hop dancers for a week. That's just outstanding.)
(it really is)
