i found my invincible underwear.
the strangest words ever came out of my mouth around 9:40 this morning: i am just so excited because it's monday. I know, weird, eh? i was definitely taken aback. it worked, though, for a little while. good medicine for whiny kids. i'm pretty sure i meant it as a joke, but they don't get jokes very well. a very literal bunch. which, of course, makes the joke so much richer for me.
today marks my first real workout since the end of hip hop. i was too sore and tired last week. it felt good to get my heart going and stretch out my muscles. i did three half-chin-ups today. i can't pull myself all the way, but i can pull myself about halfway, and then hold it for enough seconds that i know it isn't just momentum that's lifting me off the ground. the chin-up isn't my major focus anymore, but it is still one of my goals. weights don't interest me as much as cardio. what i'd like is to get back into running. slowly. it's a bit too cold still for me, but i run laps inside the school: up the main stairs, along the high school hall, down the back stairs and through the junior high. i am a little bit afraid to run outside, too, because it is damn slippery. hard-packed snow turned into ice... treacherous at a walking pace.
i'm doing a lot of stretching, too. now that is good stuff. i would love to join a yoga class, but there is no such thing here. well, i ain't dead yet. maybe next year.
sunrise: 7h16
sunset: 15h57
total daylight: 8h41m
wooHOO! that means it is daylight when i go to work and it could be daylight when i leave, if i left earlier than i do.
blahblahblah... i can't believe you are still reading this :p i ran out of interesting things to say last wednesday!
