tenting here is special since the ground is frozen. even when it isn't frozen, it doesn't have hold of southern dirt, and so tent pegs are just stupid. instead, we tie the wires to small boulders, and then set smaller boulders around the bottom of the tent to keep the wind and animals out. the tents are home-made and don't have bottoms, but they do have a reinforced opening for a stove pipe.
so why the pic of nalu? well... i didn't really tell anyone, but she's been pregnant since late february. i wasn't sure, because i did a super job of keeping her quarantined, but she did escape one time right near the start. anyway, she's definitely having pups, and she might have already had them. she's been in labour all day. poor puppy, she's just miserable when a contraction takes her... shaking like a leaf and whining.
i'll keep you updated with pics and stats and all that.
ps i don't know who the daddy is, and
pps she's so getting an operation this summer.

i hope she didn't pick an ugly lover. haha, you're dogs are both each the lady & the tramp at once. just teasing. can't wait to see the pups.
Puppys!!!!!
dogs should have doulas or labour coaches to help them through the rough patches....
hope that all goes well.
yep... puppies indeed. she let me pick a couple of them up before she was done giving birth, but now she's sheltering them pretty well, so i don't know the exact number. they appear to be racially diverse. i knew my dog couldn't be discriminatory.
i heard lots of little puppy voices crying last night, and this morning when i checked on them, there was lots of loud nasal breathing while they fed. they sound so cute :)
