floes

for awhile there, traveling and moving between places was getting routine. no real adjustments necessary. that's not true this time. i'm currently readjusting. you could even say i'm in a bit of shock. waking up this morning, it took a bit to place where i was. i've gotten all re-aclimatized to kingston over the last weeks.

puppies (mine, not fiona's) were so happy to see me. actually, happy is the wrong word... imagine how a ship-wrecked person might feel after floating around in a life-raft for a few days... they are almost panicky with joy. of course, i am probably projecting, since dogs can't talk and i could only see the psychotic jumping-around. but i project happiness onto their energy. nalu has been content to just sit and lean on my leg while i scratch her head. fiona is blowing her coat, so there are chunks of fur everywhere. i missed my expensive, fur-shedding, sleep-disturbing, relationship-destroying canines.

the flight into town here was nuts. i am used to flying and i don't startle easily about turbulence or sharp turns. and yet, this time... i was extremely happy to be reunited with solid ground. here it is winter - cold, sunny, sharp.

it feels so strange to be back.
Enough hair of the dog to make myself an entire rug.
The good times are killing me.

i'm sure once you get back into your classroom you'll quickly snap back into the i'm the teacher hear me roar mode. i bet your class will have a deep down happiness to have you back. if not, boot to the head.

I'm glad you made it back safe. It was so good to have you down here, but it must be good to get back to business up there. :)
