my internet at home has me all frustrated... it hasn't worked since i got home, and that means i have to do all my e-stuff from school. which i don't like.
talk about a monday morning - yesterday was sort of like diving into a deep ocean. nothing like total immersion to get you over a shock. i was deeplly rewarded to see a handful of my students first thing in the morning and hear them say, "oh thank god you're back! we missed you so much!" it was really special. the afternoon full re-immersed me in school, though, with a vocal reminder from a different student that i am a certain kind of animal behaving in a most unladylike fashion. even with the extra syllable. indeed, i was proclaimed to be a fucking biatch (which always makes me smile - biatch? are you fucking kidding me??)
i miss the south and all of it's luxurious coffee shops and yoga classes and wonderful friends, but i am happy to be back at work. it gives me a sense of purpose, which might be more important to me than comfort and pleasure. of course, the sense of purpose only lasts as long as i don't look at the big picture.

so good!
:) And you know if there are students who are willing to say they missed you there are plenty more who did but won't say it.
hmm.. i would like to think, but those things are unreadable. i don't think, at least, that anyone is deeply displeased to see me. even the questionables are talking to me. phew!
