well, it's getting to that time of year again... time to start thinking of making resolutions. i think often of the things i'd like to change in my life, but really the things i'd like to change are relatively few. i'm fit, i'm healthy, usually i'm happy, save those times when PMS, lack of sunlight, and preposterous life events screw things up.
so my resolutions are shaping up to be pretty thin... i will apply for mountains of jobs, in the fashion of kate who applied for nearly a hundred (way to go!!). oh here's a new one: I'm going to floss my teeth every single day. just today my dentist worked some sort of prying/sawing magic to make it possible for me floss between these two molars that have been so in love with each other than a strand of dental floss couldn't fit between.
speaking of the dentist, today's visit was a comedy of errors: first the dentist broke three of those little saw things trying to open the space between my teeth. then he accidentally punched me in the nose reaching for a tool, then the hygienist's polisher thing fell apart in my mouth and i almost choked on it, then my jaw locked from having my mouth open so wide for so long, then the polisher thing flung a chunk of tooth-polish junk right into my eye! it really burned.
after i left the dentist i stopped to buy gas and met possibly the most tactless ass of an attendant ever. he told me that teachers should be dressed up and coiffed and made up all the time (he was chatty and friendly at first, so i didn't mind chatting back), and he also asked what those little red marks were on my face. i've had crappy skin for the past couple of years... don't know where it came from and i do my best to control it, but still: who would want the opinion of some stranger on their skin ailments? i'm used to that kind of impertinence from northerners... they are a blunt people. but this is southern ontario for goodness' sake. mind your own fucking business! gar!
