HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
thanks for the excellent brew pub-related shenanigans last night. it was truly fun.
here are some things i want to do or change this year:
1. apply for a lot of jobs. a lot.
2. conquer the chin-up.
3. follow through to actually do the kite-boarding thing (ie don't crap out because of possible dislocations and concussions)
4. take more risks.
5. arrange my life in to-do list format.
6. stay from drama, keep my nose clean.
7. stay on top of paperwork and the mountain of dead trees aka my desk.
8. i guess that's it.
i had the most bizarre dream last night. i dreamed i was sitting outside a building, drinking and playing cards with friends at a picnic table. and it seemed like a storm was coming, but we kept playing. and then right in front of us, two transport trucks got in a crazy accident and one was a gas tanker. i was sure it would explode and yelled for everyone to get inside. we were standing in the doorway when the initial spectacular explosion occurred (all blue and pink, like an electrical burst). then i made them close the door because obviously gas would blow next... anyway, it was bizarre. there were several minutes spent inside this place, waiting for the explosion.... very tense dream. people were still drunkenly singing, even when i thought i saw smoke. it was probably the most apocalyptic dream i've ever had.
i'm really glad that 2007 is finished. not totally sure why since it was much calmer than 2006. i feel like 2008 is full of potential.

happy new year!
we're just back from spencer's parents in Maine. Tired. Much "not that I would pressure you to have a baby, but you notice that all the other cousins have had babies and you need to think about it before it's TOO LATE" etc. Overall a good time. I got a sewing machine and made most of a baby quilt.
Very jealous of your brewpub-going.
Also there was 12" of snow in Maine, which was so freaking nice. We went snowshoeing and generally stared at scenic scenes. No snow in Maryland. I so want to be living further north.
