it's a little bit shocking to be back. for one thing, it's incredibly cold. for another, it's very very dark. thirdly, i actually have to go to work this morning, and finally it's just plain weird.
my trip was largely uneventful, which is good. i had some baggage issues because of how much i had. once again i enjoyed my iPod. my pups were so happy to see me; fiona still can't get enough attention and is inclined to follow me everywhere i go. they've been well cared for while i was away.
today i'll be setting up the art room for pottery. i've bought old bedsheets from the salvation army store to staple to the tables for workspace. some people use stone tops or paper-coverings, but from what i see, cloth works best for the money. i'm somewhat wary of starting up the pottery. it's going to be a lot of work to keep tidy and controlled, and i know there will be many frustrations. i'm excited though, and interested to see what they will turn out, because typically they resort to culturally stereotyped images in their art. i want to see what a cutting-edge young inuk could turn out, and i think they'll need a new medium if they are to feel free.
well, i guess that's it for now.

It's 70 degrees F in Maryland today. Late spring weather. T-shirt, sandals. It's not right.
