it's done.
i am free. relatively.
i bought all the non-perishable stuff i could possibly need next year, and now it is on skids at the port of valleyfield, waiting for crating. hey, that rhymes. i felt very free-agent, citizen of the world, grown-up today. i rented a van, packed it full of ikea furniture, canned goods and other goodies, drove the whole thing out of the freakin' province, and into the port. then i drove the empty van home again. and i did it all by myself.
well, i mean, i did have some help - kate and lesley with the lifting of those obstinate, heavy shelves, and the dudes at the port, with the unloading of the van. i couldn't do what i do without the moral support of people such as yourself who, even if you doubt my choices, still support me in their execution.
i am here, poised, with a little more than a week to drink my fill and visit my friends and family, ready to start up a new year. or, almost ready, anyway.
to new beginnings.
