uranium

i am seeking a home for what could be the best puppy ever. adorable, quiet, sweet-natured, playful. she isn't exhibiting the typical husky traits of hyperactivity and destructiveness... maybe because she isn't a pure husky. i don't expect that any of you could take her, but perhaps you know someone who is seeking a little furry partner-in-crime. who knows?

life is a whirlwind since i got here. back and forth from the cottage, classes, meeting up with old friends... it all takes time and energy, and i think i've been giving up too much sleep in order to do everything. it's time like this one wishes it were possible to live without sleep.

i'm pretty sure it's about to rain. which is too bad since i'm sitting on the porch.

my art class is going spectacularly well. at the beginning of each class i panic a little bit, in case i can't do what is expected. but then i put the panic out of my mind and begin seeing and drawing, and i typically have some good work to show at the end of the time. i am really enjoying it. i really think that this will help me to help my students this coming year. i think sometimes i have difficulties as a teacher because most things come to me fairly easily. i have beginner's luck in most everything i do.

i spent sunday listening to Top 40 radio, since that is apparently THE radio station received at my cottage. actually, i listened to the Weekly Top 40 for the first time in maybe 15 years. and then i listened to casey casum for the first time in even longer. felt sort of weird. shouldn't he be dead by now? but it turned out ok since i discovered john mayer's song, gravity:
twice as much ain't twice as good
and can't sustain like one half could
it's wanting more
that's gonna send me to my knees
